A England
I first came across A England while searching for holographic nail polish on nailpolishdirect.com, after binge watching Simply Nailogical on YouTube. I watched a few swatch and review videos and ended up on the A England website, where I discovered their outlet store, and proceeded to create a flowchart and Venn diagram because I wanted all of the colours but couldn’t decide. I ended up buying nine polishes, not all of which were in the outlet store but they are all SO PRETTY.
A England was founded by Adina Bodana, a designer originally from Italy. Her collections are inspired by artworks, books, culture, myths and legends, and she has a particular passion for England. In this interview on inspirationail.com, Bodana explains that her products are intended to tell a story and inspire. The website’s About page gives more information about what inspires Bodana, as well as how she ended up where she is. This interview also has some great personal insights.
This brand was the first UK indie I came across, so it holds a special place in my heart. I’ve used my 9 polishes fairly often, particularly for nail art, but every single colour is absolutely entrancing on its own and several have a crazy holo flare. Every single formula is smooth and easy to apply, and most of them are opaque in one or two coats.
