I first came across A England while searching for holographic nail polish on nailpolishdirect.com, after binge watching Simply Nailogical on YouTube. I watched a few swatch and review videos and ended up on the A England website, where I discovered their outlet store, and proceeded to create a flowchart and Venn diagram because I wanted all of the colours but couldn’t decide. I ended up buying nine polishes, not all of which were in the outlet store but they are all SO PRETTY.

A England was founded by Adina Bodana, a designer originally from Italy. Her collections are inspired by artworks, books, culture, myths and legends, and she has a particular passion for England. In this interview on inspirationail.com, Bodana explains that her products are intended to tell a story and inspire. This brand was the first UK indie I came across, so it holds a special place in my heart. I’ve used my 9 polishes fairly often, particularly for nail art, but every single colour is absolutely entrancing on its own and several have a crazy holo flare. Every single formula is smooth and easy to apply, and most of them are opaque in one or two coats.
