The road thus far

It's been just over a week since I started putting real time and effort into this nail business, and it's a hobby I've thoroughly enjoyed so far. The whole process of sorting and swatching polishes and doing manicures is very soothing, and I love the challenge of doing a bit of nail art, although my actual artistic skill is minimal at best.
I've also been pleasantly surprised at how positive and supportive the Instagram nail art community is. I haven't had a single negative comment, all of the accounts I interact with are amazing at celebrating each other's work, and I've been given some brilliant recommendations for products. It's been a really good experience so far - kindness is the key to making the world a better place, and nail Instagrammers are nailing it. Haha.
I wasn't born in the UK but I live here by choice, and supporting British businesses is something I feel is important. In this vein, I've tried to buy something (small because budget) from each UK indie nail polish brand I've come across - 13 so far. I find indie nail polishes to be much more diverse and interesting than mainstream brands (although there are lots of those I love too) and many of them are definitely better quality. These brands and their stories have really piqued my interest, so I've started researching for a series of blog posts on them. I'm also in the process of creating a directory on my website, to make them easier to find and learn more about.
I'm back to work full-time tomorrow, which I'm really pleased about because I love my job, but I'm also going to miss the time and energy I've had to do nail things while working from home. My plan is to produce a good amount of content over weekends and holidays so I can post regularly, although I doubt these will happen daily like they are at the moment.
Where will the road lead? I have no idea and I kind of like that. Check back for UK indie features and stuff!
